POBLACHT NA HÉIREANN

THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT

TO THE PEOPLE OF IRELAND

FROM THE PUPILS OF RATHKEALE 2 NATIONAL SCHOOL

To the People of Ireland, in 1916 the rebels fought for our freedom and safety, we must honour their sacrifice. Ireland should be filled with equality, happiness, justice and love.

Every citizen is entitled to live in a safe, secure nation where everyone is treated equally.  The people of Ireland deserve to live in peace without war.

There should be an end to racism and we welcome the refugees who have had to flee from their homelands for a better life here in Ireland.

Every child in Ireland is entitled to a good education so that they will reach their full potential, achieve qualifications and contribute to society by seeking employment.

Everyone is entitled to good health care, we acknowledge the great work of our health professionals and they deserve to work in modern fully equipped hospitals. We encourage everyone to live healthy lives getting exercise and eating good food.

We believe that everyone should have a home and that no one should have to sleep on the cold concrete or in people’s doorways.

Everyone has a responsibility to look after and respect our environment and protect it for future generations. We encourage all schools to join the Green Flag Programme where children learn about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling.

We are a proud nation with a rich heritage of music, dance and story. We are privileged to have our own language and we must protect it for the future.
