We are currently working on our 10th Green Flag which is on Global Citizenship, Food and Biodiversity. We had an excellent day with a visit from Cathy who helped us to identify all of the habitats in the school grounds and to seek out places for planting and promoting growth . This year we have purchased a greenhouse which the children have loved working in and have made wonderful progress with planting . Ms Culhane also won 4 raised beds for the school and we were lucky enough to receive donations of compost, plants, seeds and watering cans from D and M Garden Centre in Croagh which got us off to a great start .
Cathy worked with us to plant up the beds inside and outside the greenhouse as part of our Green Schools Action Day.
The Green Schools committee reported back to the whole school on how everything is progressing at our weekly assembly.
