Geoff Hunt, Heritage in Schools Expert, visited us recently. We always look forward to Geoff’s annual visits. This year Geoff’s workshops with both classrooms centred around garden birds. The senior pupils went on a short walk with Geoff and carried out a bird survey. We spotted 11 different bird species on our walk. The junior pupils focused on the birds in the immediate surroundings of the school.

Geoff also helped us identify some common garden birds by their birdsong as well as their physical appearance. The workshop ended with Geoff leading a drawing lesson of the bluetit.
