The pupils from 5th and 6th class visited one of the archaeological digs taking place on the route of the new Foynes Limerick road. They met with some of the archaeologists who explained the job of the archaeologist and their role in the investigations taking place on various sites along the route of the new road. As well as meeting the archaeologists and hearing about the work the pupils also got to see one of the dig sites up close and also to examine some artifacts recently discovered.
