About a year ago, a local bee keeper, Tom, came to the school to remove a hive of honey bees that had made their home in the school building.

Tom returned to school recently to talk to the children about bee keeping and to show some of the equipment he uses. He spoke about the importance of bees to our area’s biodiversity and their role in the food chain.

Tom also brought some bees with him and we were delighted to be able to see the queen bee among the workers.
